FFA and horticulture students built the raised beds for the Community Giving Garden.
Some lettuce and cabbage starts, waiting to be transplanted when the weather gets a little warmer and they get a little stronger.
This project is giving students the opportunity to build raised beds and tend to the crops. The harvest is donated to our Family Food Program to benefit local families in need.
Thank you to Bassett High Horticulture, the FFA, and Virginia Agriculture in the Classroom for making this project possible for our students and community!
The crops are booming!
The first harvest, lettuce. A beautiful donation to benefit those in need.
